Rogue Tanks

Blast through random levels of enemies with or against up to 3 of your friends in this action roguelike top-down shooter! Travel from the desert to the enemy base and...into space!? Upgrade with quicker firing, bouncing bullets, and more. Defeat huge bosses to unlock more tank classes!

Co-op Campaign

Defeat every enemy in 20 randomly selected rooms from a list of 54 hand-crafted levels. After defeating every enemy in a room, choose an upgrade to make your tank faster and stronger. Supports 1 to 4 players locally. Defeat special bosses like the 4-directional, lob-shot, and homing missile tanks to unlock them to play as. Clear special challenge rooms and complete other missions in each run of the game.

Upgrade your tank

• increase move speed
• increase bullet speed
• decrease reload time
• add bounce to your shots
• reinforce your tank armor
• raise your bullet capacity
• in co-op mode, choose to revive a fallen ally instead of gaining an upgrade

Survivor Mode

Pick any level unlocked in the campaign to survive as long as you can using any tank. Earn an upgrade at each milestone of enemies defeated. Rising difficulty and number of enemies over time. Saves best time and most enemies defeated for each level. Supports 1 to 4 players.

Battle Mode

Battle your friends in 4-player versus mode. Choose from the tanks you've unlocked and fight on any of the battlefields you've found in the campaign mode, plus some extras. Customize the matches, giving an upgrade to the winner, loser(s), or everyone to make the next match more interesting.

Race Mode

Race to four points placed randomly on the map to complete a lap, all while fighting off endless waves of enemies to finish in first. Choose the map, number of laps, and intensity of the enemies. Supports 2 - 4 players.

Clear Missions and Set Records

A list of 36 missions is provided for extra challenge. Examples include beating the campaign with special conditions, like using a specific tank or never choosing a specific upgrade. Records of your best campaign time, shots, and damage taken are saved to your records for each tank type. In co-op, each player can go for different missions, making getting all of them faster. Individual records for Survivor, Battle, and Race mode are also included.

Controls

This game is fully playable with mouse and keyboard or a gamepad/controller. Once the game is opened, please go to the Player Input option on the main menu to select your preferred input device for each player. Below is an explanation of the controls.

Keyboard and Mouse:

• WASD or arrow keys to move
• mouse point to aim, click to fire
• P to pause (change settings, quit to menu)
• R to use reroll coin (if you have any)
• Mouse left click, Enter or Spacebar to confirm in menu (Esc to go back)

Gamepad:

• left analog stick to move
• right analog stick to aim
• right trigger to fire
• left trigger to change aim type (direct point or use crosshairs)
• Start to pause
• Select to use reroll coin (if you have any)

Credits

This is a solo project made entirely by me, Clayton Grange. I have had a long love for games that can bring people together. While this game may be about tanks and shooting, the main appeal I see is a way for friends and family to work cooperatively in a fun, non-toxic environment. I am self-taught in programming and this is one of the projects I'm making to learn the process of making games.
